Quick Guide to Harpies

NOTE: this quick guide is somewhat biased, as it is my PERSONAL experience, so; individual results may vary.

You can discard 1 "Harpie" card; Special Summon 1 "Harpie" monster from your Deck in face-up Defense Position, except "Harpie Channeler". You can only use this effect of "Harpie Channeler" once per turn. While you control a Dragon-Type monster, this card's Level becomes 7. This card's name becomes "Harpie Lady" while it is on the field or in the Graveyard.

Usually, you're gonna be summoning Harpies Pet Dragon. Since it's a Dragon, which turns Channeler into LV 7, it's basically a 1 card Dracossack/Big Eye.

It's the ONLY reason you run Pet Dragon.

AND you can revive it with Queen Dragon Djinn.

LIKE A MA FUCKIN BAWS!

When this card is activatedAdd 1 "Elegant Egotist" from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand. During the End Phase of the turn this card was sent from the field or hand to the Graveyard: Add up to 3 "Harpie" cards with different names from your Deck to your hand. You can only activate 1 "Hysteric Sign" effect per turn, and only once that turn.

Yes, you read correctly. From Deck OR Graveyard. So it's best to play it soon, so you get the "full" effect when you draw another.

Only run 1, for the same reason. Unless you like drawing useless copies of cards.

If Hysteric Sign effect goes off, you should be in a good position to win the game. Just because you get 3 (or 4 of you count Elegant Egotist) cards for basically nothing.

If you're feeling bold enough to use Summoner Monk, you can pitch Hysteric Sign, and get Hysteric Sign's effect during the end phase, just don't play another Hysteric Sign.

Cyber Harpie Lady is the biggest Harpie lady that be summoned with Elegant Egotist. So you run 3.

DO NOT RUN Harpie Lady #1, because you will randomly encounter an opposing WIND monster (which #1 boosts).

Notes:

Since you run 3 Hysteric Sign (at least you should). You don't need 3 Hunting Ground. Harpie Queen can search it, along with Sign. S/T don't matter as much as it used to be and most of the time, it will be used as Channeler Fodder.

The Typical opening play is the same as it is with E-Dragons. If you have a Channeler and  "Harpie" card, just Make Dracossack, because you can.

If you don't have access to Dracossack and/or Big Eye, don't play the deck.

HOWEVER;

You CAN play it without Dracossack/Big Eye, but your first turn play will be HORRIBLE.

I get that you don't want to kick out the cash (or the lip service) for these cards, understandable. BUT, if you want to play the deck on a competitive level, you'll need it.

Hysteric Party mass summons. And is a discard outlet for pet Dragon (because you NEVER want to be stuck with Pet Dragon).

Main Deck SHELL

3 Cyber Harpie Lady
3 Harpie Queen
3 Harpie Channeler
1-2 Harpie's Pet Dragon
2 Harpie Dancer (since Dancer isn't in TCG yet, you could replace this with Summoner Monk, because Hysteric Sign will STILL get its effect if pitched)
3 Effect Veiler (it's a tuner)

3 Hysteric Sign (more chances to draw it, even more important with Summoner Monk if you choose to run it)
2 Harpies Hunting Ground (3 is dead ALOT of the time, and Harpie Queen directly searches it)
1 Elegant Egotist (Hysteric Sign gets it from the deck AND graveyard)
2-3 MST (depending on how important backrow is to you)
Heavy Storm (because, duh)

2 Hysteric Party (this seems to be a staple, if you're running more than 1 Pet Dragon, I personally feel better about playing the deck when I know I have multiple discard outlets)

Extra Deck STAPLES

Lightning Chidori OBVIOUSLY, because you're running LV4 WIND monsters.

Sylphine, the Sub-Zero Siren because you're running Winged-Beasts.

Daigusto Emeral, because you'll burn through your monsters relatively fast.

Diamond Dire Wolf, because you run Winged-Beasts, which means you're not gonna be only blowing up itself.

Sample Extra Deck.

Crimson Blader
Ally of Justice Catastor
2 Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack
Number 11: Big Eye
Vylon Disigma
Number C39; Utopia Ray
Number 39: Utopia
Number 16: Shock Master
Number 50: Blackship of Corn
Sylphine, the Sub-Zero Siren
Diamond Dire Wolf
Lightning Chidori
Maestroke the Symphony Djinn
Disgusto Emeral

  3. This deck won't be good until harpie's dancer comes out. Harpie's dancer + divine wind of mist valley = level 8 synchros all day.
